French Polynesia Ministry of Tourism

French Polynesia Ministry of Tourism is supporting the revival of the Ocean race in the South Pacific Islands. Therefor they are funding the Transpac Tahiti and will join their effort to offer sailors the warmer polynesian welcome ever.

Air Tahiti Nui

Air Tahiti Nui, the Polynesian airline, is flying from Tahiti to Los Angeles, Paris, Auckland, Sydney, Tokyo and Noumea. They will support the race committee of the Transpac Tahiti 2020 and give access to the sailors to prefered rates to allow their friends, family and technical team to join them on the arrival line in Papeete.

The City of Papeete

The Mayor of Papeete, M.Michel Buillard, is willing as well to highlight is city of Papeete as a perfect place for the arrival of the Transpac Tahiti 2020. The award ceremony will take place in the beautiful garden of his cityhall.

Papeete Port Authority

Papeete port Authority, is also very supportive of the Transpac Tahiti. They will facilitate the berthing of the fleet upon arrival in their brand new marina downtown Papeete, and give us room to set up the Race and media Head Quarter in this marina.


Tahitian Sailing Federation

The Tahitian sailing federation (FTV) strive to boost sailing in French Polynesia by conducting missions:

  • Preparing and coaching sailors – Practice, training, physical fitness, etc.
  • Training local executives – Sailing instructors, referees, coaches.
  • Providing assistance to the affiliated clubs – membership, Federal Technical Advisor, etc.
  • Organizing events – TPR, Oceania Windsurf, Sails of Freedom, etc.
  • Liaising and promoting sailing activities – Website, Facebook, media
  • Implementing the sports agenda – calendar, travels, high-level sailing, etc.

The Federation works with many other stakeholders like the Ministry for youth and sports, the department of youth and sports, The institute of youth and sports, the Olympic Committee of French Polynesia, the Oceania Sailing Federation, World Sailing.

Tahiti Yacht Club

Created in 1954, the Yacht Club of Tahiti has about 300 members. The YCT vocation is to discover and practice sailing for both young and old. Thus, the club organizes all year long courses, courses and regattas in Optimist, multihulls and cruisers. Passenger boaters are welcomed at anchor or pontoon for a day, a week, a month … or more, and different services are available to them during their stay.
